Crystal Palace Eye A Swoop For All-Action Wing-Wizard: A Good Move By The Club?

Crystal Palace are keen on signing Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Filip Kostic, as per reports.

The Serbian international has continued his good form this season, and has been an integral player in Adi Hutter’s side.

According to The Sun (via Football.London), the Eagles could make a move for the 27-year-old if their star player, Wilfred Zaha, leaves the club this summer.

Kostic moved to Eintracht Frankfurt from Hamburg in 2018, and has gone on to make 87 appearances in two seasons, scoring 22 goals and assisting 28 times in the process.

The Serbian has three more years remaining on his current deal at the German club. Kostic is an experienced player, and has also made 32 appearances for the Serbian national side.

Filip Kostic to Crystal Palace – A good move b the club?

Kostic is a hard-working left-sided player, who is versatile enough to play as a full-back or a winger.

The Serbian likes to stretch play, and use his strength, power and dribbling ability to maraud up the pitch on the left flank, before putting in crosses and picking out his teammates in the box. Kostic is a player who can do it all – pass, cross, shoot, dribble, and even defend, as his stats suggest.

He averages 3 crosses per game in the Bundesliga this season and 2.5 key passes per game. Kostic likes to play the ball in early from wide areas and is pretty accurate with his crossing.

He also likes to run at defences, averaging 2.8 dribbles per game, and even take shots from distance. He is pretty accomplished defensively, averaging 1.9 tackles per game, and can do a good job in the wing-back role for his team.

The strong and experienced wide man could be a good signing for Palace. While he may not have the flair and innovation that Zaha possesses, but he is a more team player who can threaten while going forward.

His direct play, of putting crosses in early, and dribbling, will fit in well with Crystal Palace’s tactics. Kostic has vast experience and could settle in well in the Premier League, possessing qualities that would make him a good signing for a lot of Premier League clubs.

Kostic could be an important player in Crystal Palace’s rebuild strategy.
