Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has explained that his side are ready for an open game against Manchester City.
Solskjaer’s side beat Manchester City at the Etihad in the reverse fixture last year, and will hope to do the double come Sunday in the Manchester derby.
The Red Devils pushed the Sky Blues in the League Cup semi-final as well, but ultimately ended up as the losing side after playing the second leg with 10 men in the second half.
The game in December saw United resort to hitting City on the break, and the pattern could be the same come Sunday, but Solskjaer is hopeful of an entertaining game, and a classic.
“So I am sure they will play their game, we will play our game, and hopefully it will be a good one. Let’s hope it will be a 4-3, like we have seen before.
“There have been many classics. We will do what we can to make it a classic,” Solskjaer told the media in a press conference.
Manchester United are just three points behind Chelsea, and considering their goal difference, are a win away from usurping the Blues in the race for Champions League football next season.
Manchester City, meanwhile, will hope to strengthen their grip on second place with the title pretty much out of sight now.
