Origi Set To Play | Predicted 4-3-3 Liverpool Lineup vs Southampton

The Liverpool juggernaut keeps going, and next in their way are an in-form Southampton side who they face on Saturday at Anfield.

Liverpool only need eight more wins to clinch the Premier League regardless of what happens elsewhere, but Southampton will be a good test.

The Saints have turned their fortunes around under Ralph Hasenhuttl, and play a style of football that isn’t far off from what the Austrian achieved at RB Leipzig.

It could be an exciting game before Liverpool take their mini-winter break, and Southampton will hope to avenge their 2-1 defeat at home, one where they were impressive but eventually lost.

Liverpool Team News

Divock Origi could be available after recovering from the cramps he suffered during the clash against West Ham United.  Adam Lallana is also back, but James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri remain unavailable.

Predicted Liverpool Lineup vs Southampton

Defence

Alisson Becker had a pretty quiet night at the London Stadium, after a difficult game against Wolves, and will hope to pick up another clean-sheet come Saturday. He should line up in goal.

Trent-Alexander Arnold and Andy Robertson will be crucial against Southampton considering their pressing style, and will feature as the full-backs once again in the Liverpool lineup.

Former Liverpool forward Danny Ings is a player in form, and his combination with Nathan Redmond has worked well for the Saints. The duo of Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk will have the task to keep the two forwards at bay.

Midfield

Considering Southampton’s style, it remains to be seen if Klopp will risk Fabinho who is not 100% match-fit yet and has started in just one cup game since his return from an ankle injury.

Jordan Henderson could once again be preferred in the deeper role, with Gini Wijnaldum and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain playing alongside him in the three-man midfield in the Liverpool lineup.

Attack

With Mane unavailable, and Takumi Minamino still not up to pace yet, Origi should start on the left side of attack. Should Klopp deem Origi not 100% fit, we could see Minamino feature.

Roberto Firmino should start up top, while Mohamed Salah, who scored once and assisted the other against West Ham, should complete the Liverpool lineup.
