Meslier And Gotts To Start | Predicted Leeds United Lineup vs Arsenal

After a good result against second-placed West Bromwich Albion in the Championship, Leeds United will turn their attention towards a huge third-round FA Cup clash against Arsenal.

The Whites face the Gunners at the Emirates on Monday night and will hope to get a famous win against the north London side.

The last time these two sides met was back in 2012 in the FA Cup, when the Gunners secured a narrow 1-0 win against Leeds in the third round of the cup competition.

Leeds United Team News

Pablo Hernandez and Adam Forshaw will surely miss the game against Arsenal, while Jamie Shackleton is a doubt for the match.

Eddie Nketiah and Jack Clarke have returned to Arsenal and Tottenham respectively, after their loan spells were cut short. One bit of good news for Leeds is that Tyler Roberts will return to the Leeds squad for this game.

Barry Douglas is expected to start. Bielsa also revealed that Illan Meslier and Robbie Gotts will make their debuts.

Let’s take a look at the possible Leeds United side for the game against Arsenal:

Predicted Leeds United Lineup vs Arsenal

Goalkeeper

Kiko Casilla has been an ever-present fixture between the sticks, but he will get a rest as Meslier is expected to make the Leeds United lineup.

Defence

The trusted centre-back duo of Liam Cooper and Ben White have fared well more often than not, but we expect Gotts to be paired up with White at the heart of the defence as part of a back four.

Luke Ayling should continue on the right side, while Douglas will feature in the left-back spot. Douglas was a second half substitute against West Brom.

Midfield

While Tyler Roberts offers an attacking threat from midfield, Bielsa may keep him on the bench as he has hardly had any football in recent weeks. Leeds should start with Kalvin Phillips, Mateusz Klich, and the versatile Stuart Dallas in the middle of the park.

Attack

Patrick Bamford was a second-half substitute in the draw against West Brom, replacing Eddie Nketiah. Bamford should start up front, flanked by Ezgjan Alioski on the right and the hard-working Jack Harrison on the left in the Leeds United lineup.

Bamford is Leeds’ top scorer this season with 10 goals from all competitions, while Harrison has 5 goals.
