Arsenal Eyeing A Swoop For PSG And French Ace: The Player They Need?

Arsenal could make a move for Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa in the January transfer window, it has been claimed.

The French international has been with PSG since 2015, but his contract with the French club expires in the summer of 2020.

As per The Sun, the Gunners could place a bid of around £6 million for the 27-year-old to help ease the injury crisis that they are currently suffering.

Kurzawa can have negotiations with other clubs now, and leave PSG in the summer on a free transfer. The Frenchman has made 14 appearances for PSG in all competitions, but has not been able to displace Juan Bernat at left-back in the first team.

The 27-year old has made 114 appearances for the club since signing for them from AS Monaco in 2015, scoring 12 goals and making 19 goals.

Kurzawa is a talented full-back, who earned his move to PSG after impressing for Monaco. The Frenchman is an attacking left-back, who likes to bomb down the flank at any given opportunity.

The 27-year-old is a good passer of the ball and play quick one-twos with his teammates and advance forward. He rarely gives away the ball, and likes to build attacks from the back, from his side of the pitch.

Kurzawa is also strong in the air and wins a lot aerial balls, while also being a neat tackler, averaging 1.2 tackles per game. He is a quality player that could be a good signing for Arsenal, but there may be a problem of plenty for manager Mikel Arteta in the position that Kurzawa plays in.

Scottish left-back Kieran Tierney, who is out with an injury and is expected to return after two months, was signed in the summer and is a highly-rated player in his position. He moved from Celtic for a fee of around £25 million. The Gunners also have Sead Kolasinac, who has also struggled with injury in recent weeks, but his issue is not as serious as Tierney’s.

If they sign Kurzawa, the Gunners will have three first-team left-backs, which could be a problem. They should make a move for him only if they can sell Kolasinac, who hasn’t quite lived up to expectations at the Emirates.

The priority for Arsenal, at the moment, would be to buy a top-class centre-back, and a right-back, not a left-back.
