One Enforced Change: 4-2-3-1 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup vs Brighton

Tottenham Hotspur lost the opportunity to enter the top 4 following their loss to Chelsea this past weekend. The north London side host Brighton & Hove Albion at home on Thursday night, in what will be a must-win game for Jose Mourinho’s men.

The Portuguese manager could be tempted to ring in the changes after the dismal loss to Chelsea but might refrain from doing so for at least one more game.

The last time these two sides faced off in the league, Brighton recorded a surprising 3-0 win in October at the Amex Stadium.

Let’s take a look at the Tottenham lineup ahead of their game against Brighton.

Team News

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, left-back Ben Davies, and winger Erik Lamela are all out of the game due to injury, while Son Heung-min is set to serve a 3-match ban for picking up a red for a reckless foul on Rudiger.

Spurs have appealed but there is a slim chance of the ban getting overturned.

PREDICTED TOTTENHAM LINEUP vs BRIGHTON (4-2-3-1)

Goalkeeper

Paulo Gazzaniga should retain his place in the Tottenham lineup despite the availability of experienced keeper Michel Vorm, who recently returned from injury.

But he will be under pressure after his horror show in Chelsea’s second goal.

Defence

Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld were decent against Chelsea and will hope for a much easier 90 minutes against Brighton.

Serge Aurier was once again poor positionally but lack of options might see him continue in his role.

Jan Vertonghen also had a difficult outing but might be spared the festive axe.

Midfield

We could see at least one change in the Spurs midfield for the game against Brighton. Tanguy Ndombélé returned from injury for the game against Chelsea and was a second-half substitute.

He could start against Brighton, with Moussa Sissoko expected to shift onto the right-wing given Son’s absence due to suspension.

Dele Alli should retain his No. 10 role in the Tottenham lineup and will be eager to get back on the scoresheet.

Attack

The entire attack had an off-day which might see a stay of execution on any particular player.

We might see Alli move onto the left flank with Lucas Moura handed another chance, but this time in the No.10 role,

Harry Kane hardly had a touch of the ball against the Blues but will be spearheading the Tottenham lineup against Brighton with Sissoko, as stated above, likely to be on the right.
