Key Player To Return | Predicted Newcastle United Lineup vs Manchester United

Newcastle United have been on a roll lately, winning three of their last five games, which has seen them move to the top half of the table. The Magpies defeated Crystal Palace at home last weekend, and face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Thursday night on Boxing Day.

Steve Bruce’s men are 9th in the Premier League and are level on points with their upcoming opponents.

Newcastle won 1-0 against the Red Devils earlier this season at St. James’ Park, and will look to get another win against Ole Gunner Solskjaer’s side and do the double over them.

Newcastle United Team News

Left-back Jetro Willems could return to the squad after missing the last game due to injury. Defenders Ciaran Clark, Jamaal Lascelles, and Paul Dummett will all miss the games due to injury, while Allan Saint-Maximin, Matt Ritchie and Ki Sung-Yueng will also miss the trip to Old Trafford.

Let’s take a look at the possible Newcastle United team for the game against Manchester United:

Predicted Newcastle United Lineup vs Manchester United

Goalkeeper

Martin Dubravka has kept two clean-sheets in the last five games, but could be in for a difficult game against the Red Devils in goal.

Defence

Fabian Schär, Federico Fernández, and Florian Lejeune started in defence against Crystal Palace, and they should continue at the back for Newcastle United.

Javier Manquillo has been in great form for Newcastle in the last few games, and he should start at right wing-back once again. Jetro Willems should replace Paul Dummett at left wing-back as the former is ready to return after a brief hiatus due to injury.

Midfield

Miguel Almirón scored his first goal for Newcastle United against Crystal Palace last weekend. He started in the middle of the park, and he should retain that position, although he could move to the No. 10 role if Steve Bruce decides to play just one striker.

Isaac Hayden and Jonjo Shelvey have had a run of good games in the middle of the park and they should also continue in the middle of the park.

Sean Longstaff could be added to the team to shore up the midfield against Manchester United.

Attack

Joelinton and Andy Carroll played together last time around, but Bruce may just play one striker at Old Trafford. Carroll could get the nod over Joelinton.
