Arsenal Turn Their Attention To Bundesliga Defensive Rock: The Player Arteta Needs

Arsenal have been linked with a January move for Bayern Munich star Jerome Boateng, as per reports.

Boateng, who previously played for Manchester City in the league, has fallen down the pecking order at Bayern Munich.

As per Daily Star, the 31-year-old could be one of new Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s first signings in the January transfer window.

Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are also interested in the German defender. As per the report, Boateng is a prime target for the Gunners, while Juventus defender Daniele Rugani is another player that Arsenal are interested in.

Boateng has made 300 appearances for Bayern since signing for them from Manchester City in 2011.

The German, who was a part of the 2014 World Cup-winning squad, has won seven league titles and a Champions League with the club. His contract with the Bavarians expires at the end of the 2021 season.

Jerome Boateng would be a smart addition to the Arsenal team

Boateng has massive experience, winning several trophies with Bayern Munich and becoming one of the best defenders in the world.

The 31-year-old has had quite a career with his leadership and influence at the back leading to a lot of success. But, he has lost his place in the German side’s starting XI, which could force him to leave the club soon.

The experienced defender could be a very good addition for Arsenal, who have lacked leaders and strong defenders at the back over the last few years.

The exit of Laurent Koscielny led to the Gunners signing David Luiz from Chelsea, but that experiment has failed, as the Brazilian has not been able to forge a strong partnership with Sokratis at the back.

Boateng is a good tackler of the ball and is strong on and off the ball, shrugging aside attackers with ease. While his form has dipped over the last year or more, he could still do a job for Arsenal in England.

His passing from the back would be another reason why Arteta will want to sign him, as he has the ability to build attacks from defence. While he may not have age on his side, Boateng could be a much better option than the current defenders that the gaffer has at their disposal.

Ahaa, its good dialogue concerning this piece of writing here at this weblog, I have read all that, so at this time me also commenting
