Leeds United To Tussle With Premier League Sides For Attacking Ace: The Depth Bielsa Needs?

Leeds United are interested in signing Liverpool’s highly-rated forward Rhian Brewster on loan, as per reports.

The 19-year-old, who came to the spotlight after his starring performances for England in the Under-17 World Cup in 2017, has found opportunities limited at Liverpool as he is behind Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi in the pecking order.

As per Daily Star, Jürgen Klopp is ready to let Brewster go out on loan, with Leeds being one of the many sides interested in signing him.

The Whites have to battle with the likes of Swansea City, as well as Premier League sides, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace, to sign the teenage striker.

Brewster is yet to score for the Liverpool senior side, but he has been scoring plenty for the reserves. He finished as the top scorer in the 2017 Under-17 World Cup, helping England to win the title.

The Englishman was a part of the Chelsea academy before joining Liverpool in 2014. He has made two appearances for the senior side this season, both coming in the Carabao Cup.

Rhian Brewster would add quality depth to Leeds United

Marcelo Bielsa’s side, just like last season, have dominated teams by holding the ball for large portions of the game and creating plenty of chances, but have had trouble finding the back of the net.

Leeds United are second on the table, winning 10 of their 17 games so far, and have a strong backline, conceding just 10 goals this season.

But, their attack – especially their strikers – haven’t contributed as much as they would have wanted them to. Patrick Bamford, Bielsa’s first-choice striker, has got into good positions, but has missed plenty of chances. He has just 6 goals in 17 appearances – the top scorer for Leeds this season, while Eddie Nketiah – on loan from Arsenal – has 3 goals.

Bielsa desperately needs a striker who could be another option for him. Rhian Brewster could be a shrewd signing as the young Englishman is quick, has good close control, and can dribble past defences.

He looks like the kind of player that would flourish in the Marcelo Bielsa set-up. Leeds should certainly look at bringing him in on loan as he technically brilliant and has a lot of talent to work with.
