3 Reasons Why Unai Emery Could Be Sacked Soon As Arsenal Manager | Opinion

Following a 2-0 defeat against Leicester City last weekend, Arsenal’s bleak prospects of excelling under Unai Emery look even fainter.

Emery’s side have collected just 17 points from their 12 Premier League outings so far, which is half of what current leaders Liverpool have managed so far.

The Gunners are having yet another mediocre season, and it doesn’t look like things will improve as the results have been far too predictable.

Here are three reasons why Emery could get the boot soon if there isn’t a turnaround.

#1 Poor run of form

Arsenal have failed to secure a win in any of their last five games across all competitions – a dire run that includes a defeat against a much-changed Liverpool side in the EFL Cup.

In the league, while Liverpool are flying high, Manchester City, Leicester City and Chelsea are sitting pretty in the top four spots that Arsenal don’t seem like they can crack with their current run of form.

Despite making an ample amount of investment in the summer transfer window, the north London outfit are slipping away and it looks like the Gunners will have to wait longer to get back into the Champions League spots.

#2 Absence of stability

Emery has been afforded time, yet, he hasn’t found what Arsenal’s strongest lineup is. His tactics have been all over the place and more often than not, Emery has appeared to be incapable as the players have looked clueless on the pitch.

The Spaniard has shuffled his side a lot, which has affected the understanding between the players on the pitch. It is difficult to comprehend what the manager actually wants from his players.

Failure to strike the right balance in the defence and midfield, in particular, has led to blunders. The 4-2-3-1 formation, which is arguably the most suited system, has not been trusted enough by the former Paris Saint-Germain manager, and even their attack, which at least used to be fluent and outscore teams, has regressed.

#3 Lack of cohesion with the fans

During Arsene Wenger’s tenure at Arsenal, Arsenal played a fluidic brand of football, unlike the pragmatic and unappealing approach under the tutelage of Emery. With the results going against Emery as well, it’s no surprise that the fans have turned against him.

The treatments of Mesut Ozil and Lucas Torreira have been baffling, to say the least, and the fans have been voicing their concerns regarding the aforesaid matter. Further, Granit Xhaka’s altercations with the fans worsened the case, and perhaps the club have not handled it well by not backing their captain and stripping him of the armband.

The fans, who are the backbone of a club, are getting increasingly frustrated with the manner the manager is running the show. Summed up, Arsenal are in a mess right now and perhaps need a fresh approach under a new manager.
