3 Reasons Why Manchester United Should Sign This Creative Star | Opinion

Manchester United have had a tough 2019-20 season so far, but United’s hierarchy seem to trust Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the project that he’s building at the club.

The current United manager wants to play quick, attacking football, and wants to build a team that could challenge for the title in the next few years.

This has meant that he is keen on signing young players, sticking to United’s DNA of signing players who have the potential to be very good in the future.

One player that many United fans want to see at Old Trafford is Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish. The Villa captain has been impressive for the club in their return to the Premier League.

Let’s take a look at 3 reasons why Manchester United should make a move for Jack Grealish:

#1 Good option on the left and midfield

It’s quite obvious that Manchester United need strengthening in several areas on the pitch, with midfield being the priority.

Grealish started off as a left-winger, a player who can use his tricks and flicks to drift inside using his favoured right foot.

But, the 24-year-old has now adapted to a central role, capable of playing in a three-man midfield. This versatility could be very useful at United, as the club do not have many quality options in the middle of the park.

They also do not have many options out wide on the left, with Marcus Rashford being the only quality left winger since Anthony Martial’s new role as a striker. Daniel James can play on the left, but he works well on the right.

#2 Jack Grealish has the potential to develop further

Grealish has, for a long time, been a player that Aston Villa fans have put their hopes on. He has come through the ranks and made his debut in 2014, having been a part of a Premier League squad way back in 2012 as a 16-year-old.

Grealish is just 24 years of age, and with years of Championship and Premier League experience under his belt, he has developed into a fine player, and could perhaps be even better around quality players like Rashford and Martial.

He has matured as a player and still has a lot to offer.

#3 Flair player that United lack

United fans have always desired players who can wow them with exciting football, and Grealish is a player that fits the bill.

The Villa attacker is a quality dribbler of the ball, who can draw opposition defenders towards him and shimmy his way past them. He is a joy to watch when he is on form and needs a stage like Old Trafford to show more of what he is capable of.

This season in the Premier League, Grealish has been fouled 4.2 times per game on average – more than any other player in the league.

He also averages 2.8 key passes per game, which takes him to third on the list, behind Kevin de Bruyne and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
