Trezeguet To Start | Predicted 4-3-3 Aston Villa Lineup vs Manchester City

Aston Villa have turned things around in the Premier League and have had a good month, winning 7 of their last 9 points in the Premier League. But, they have a stern test on Saturday as they travel to the Etihad to face defending champions Manchester City.

The Villans are 12th in the league, with 11 points following their 3 wins and 2 draws in 9 games.

Villa manager Dean Smith has an almost full-strength squad to choose from ahead of the game against City. The last time the Villans travelled to the Etihad Stadium, they were drubbed 4-0, back in 2016.

Let’s take a look at the possible Aston Villa lineup for the match against Manchester City:

Predicted Aston Villa Lineup vs Manchester City

Goalkeeper

Tom Heaton has started all 9 Premier League games for Villa this season, and he will start once again against Manchester City.

Defence

Tyrone Mings and Björn Engels have formed a very good partnership in the Villa backline this season. The duo will continue at the back for Villa against City, and will have to be at their very best if their team are to win any points at the Etihad.

Matt Targett scored his first goal for Aston Villa against Brighton last time around, a late strike in added time which ensured that Villa won their second game on the bounce.

He will most likely continue at left-back for Villa. Frédéric Guilbert will also retain his place in the Aston Villa lineup at right-back for the game against Manchester City.

Midfield

Former Manchester City midfield Douglas Luiz, who moved from City to Aston Villa, will most likely feature in the game against his old club, but from the bench.

Another summer signing, Marvelous Nakamba, has moved ahead of Luiz in the Aston Villa lineup, and will start as the deepest lying midfielder.

John McGinn has been in good form for club and country in recent games, and he will start in midfield, alongside Conor Hourihane.

Attack

Wesley should start as the lone striker for Villa against Manchester City, while captain Jack Grealish – who had a good game against Brighton – will start on the left side.

Anwar El Ghazi could drop to the bench for the game against City, with Trezeguet coming in on the right.
