Jonny To Start: 3-5-2 Wolverhampton Wanderers Predicted Lineup vs Southampton

Wolverhampton Wanderers will be in a buoyant and optimistic mood when they host Southampton at the Molineux after their incredible 0-2 win against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium before the international break.

The win took Wolves further away from the relegation zone, up to 11th, ahead of Manchester United. Their opponents for Saturday, Southampton, have lost their last three Premier League games and will hope to change things around on Saturday.

Let’s take a look at the possible team that Wolves manager Nuno Espírito Santo may put out against Southampton.

PREDICTED WOLVES LINEUP vs SOUTHAMPTON (3-5-2)

Goalkeeper

Rui Patrício will start in goal for Saturday’s match against Southampton in the Wolves lineup.

Defence

Romain Saïss is set to miss the match after being taken off in the game against Manchester City. Ryan Bennett could start in his place at the heart of the defence, with Conor Coady and Willy Boly playing alongside him at the back for Wolves.

Midfield

Leander Dendoncker, João Moutinho and Ruben Neves started for Wolves in midfield in their win against Manchester City, and we could very well see the trio continue in the middle of the park for the game against Southampton.

Morgan Gibbs-White could be on the bench after withdrawing from international duty due to an injury. He is another option in central midfield in the Wolves lineup.

The hero for Wolves last time around was Adama Traoré, who scored two late goals to seal a historic win against defending Premier League champions, Manchester City. Traore, who has made 5 starts and 2 substitute appearances in the league so far, has scored twice and registered one assist this season. He will most likely start on the right once again for Wolves.

Rúben Vinagre started on the left-hand side for Wolves against Manchester City and he may make way for Jonny for the game against Southampton.

Attack

Raúl Jiménez had a fantastic game against Manchester City, and he will continue to lead the Wolves lineup.

Jimenez has scored twice in the league so far and 6 in the Europa League including qualifiers. Diogo Jota may not be fit enough to start the game against Southampton which means that Patrick Cutrone will join Jimenez upfront.
