Manchester United Transfer Target Lowers Wage Demands | Why They Should Move In

Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic could make a switch to Manchester United in the January transfer window as he is reportedly willing to lower his wage demands. The experienced Croatian forward has fallen out of favour at the Italian club under new manager Maurizio Sarri.

As per The Sun, Mandzukic could reduce his wage demands — which currently stands at £300,000 per week — by half. The Croatian will reportedly settle for wages of £150,000 to join Manchester United in the January transfer window.

Manchester United could apparently sign Mandzukic for a fee of just around £10 million in January. The 33-year-old has not featured for Juventus this season as the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo preferred in the forward’s role.

Mandzukic has scored 44 goals and 23 assists in 162 games since joining the club in 2015 from Atletico Madrid.

The Croatian has made 89 appearances for his national team, scoring 33 goals, and being a part of the team that went to the finals of the 2018 World Cup.

It’s a good deal for Manchester United and they should sign Mandzukic

Manchester United have a crisis in attack as they have just two first-team strikers in Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, and a rookie teenager in Mason Greenwood.

The Red Devils did not replace Romelu Lukaku or Alexis Sanchez after their moves to Inter Milan in the summer, which has come back to haunt them this season.

Martial has been out for a while due to injury, while the burden of being Manchester United’s first-choice striker has resulted in a dip in form for Rashford. United have been good at the back, not conceding too many goals, but have struggled in front of goal due to the lack of a goalscorer.

The signing of Mandzukic will be a stop-gap solution to a bigger problem, but it is a signing that’s a must for Manchester United in January.

The Croatian is good in the air, is a hard-working player, and is also one who can chip in with goals, which is what United need in their squad at the moment.

At 33 years of age, the striker may not have too many years left in the game, but if last year is any indication, he still has a lot to offer. A fee of £10 million and wages of £150,000 makes it a good deal for Manchester United.
