Barcelona will return to action in the Spanish Primera Liga on Tuesday night, after getting the weekend off following the postponement of their fixture against Real Madrid this past weekend.
The Catalan giants host Real Valladolid at home and will hope to register a win to get back to the top of the La Liga table.
Barcelona dropped to second in the league after Granada won over the weekend. The Catalan side have won their last four La Liga games, and won six of their last seven games in all competitions.
Ernesto Valverde will have a strong squad to choose from ahead of Tuesday night’s game. Let’s take a look at the possible Barcelona lineup for the game against Real Valladolid:
Barcelona Team News
Samuel Umtiti missed training and is a doubt for the game against Real Valladolid. Umtiti, who has played just one game in the season so far due to injury, will most likely sit out of the mid-week fixture as well.
Sergi Roberto, who can play at right-back and central midfield, is also out due to an injury.
Goalkeeper
Marc-André ter Stegen has started all 9 league games this season for Barcelona, and he should keep his place in the Barcelona lineup.
Defence
Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet, who have been Barca’s first-choice central defence pairing, will once again start at the back.
Nélson Semedo should continue at right-back, while Jordi Alba should also retain his place over on the left side.
Midfield
Barcelona may not make a change in central midfield as the trio of Arthur, Frenkie de Jong, and Sergio Busquets have been doing very well in the league and Champions League.
The trio have started the last two games for the club in all competitions, and should occupy the midfield region in the Barcelona lineup.
Arthur has two goals and three assists, de Jong has a goal and assist, and Busquets has two assists this season.
Attack
The attacking trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Antoine Griezmann have started the last two games for Barcelona, and have helped the Catalans to back-to-back wins.
Each of the three scored in the last league game against Eibar, and they should retain their place for the game against Real Valladolid.
