Maddison is the star: Leicester City players rated in 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur

Leicester City came from behind to carve an emphatic 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur earlier today at the King Power Stadium in their latest Premier League outing.

While Harry Kane gave Spurs an early lead, Ricardo Pereira and James Maddison scored a goal each after the interval to secure all three points for their side in a VAR -marred game of football.

Kasper Schmeichel 7/10

Made 3 saves and distributed the ball well. Couldn’t have done much for the Harry Kane goal.

Ricardo Pereira 9/10

Pereira had one of the best outings of his career as he was in a flamboyant mood down the right. He won 3 aerial duels, made 5 tackles and his goal set things rolling for the Foxes.

Jonny Evans 7/10

Made good use of his experience as he dealt with Kane and Son Heung-Min meticulously. Intriguingly, he made 4 tackles during the game.

Caglar Soyuncu 7/10

Soyuncu was responsible to a considerable extent for Kane’s goal as he was caught out of position. Apart from that, however, he was a colossus at the back and it goes to show why Rodgers did not splash the Maguire money.

Ben Chilwell 6/10

Chilwell flattered to deceive on many occasions and in particular, his passes were far from convincing. He was afforded a number of opportunities to make an impact but his final ball was lacking.

Wilfred Ndidi 8/10

Typical Ndidi display, overpowering the Spurs midfield in the second half. Made 4 tackles and had a pass completion rate of 89%.

Ayoze Perez 6/10

Perez was dispossessed with relative ease on a number of instances as he couldn’t really make an impact in the final third the way he would have liked.

Youri Tielemans 7/10

He was overall decent and kept the ball ticking in advanced midfield. Not at his absolute best though.

James Maddison 9/10

Another outing and another dazzling performance from the English prodigy. He wrecked Spurs’ backline with his pace and creative prowess, hardly allowing them to breathe in the second half.

His link-up play was exemplary and he capped off the display with a deserving goal.

Harvey Barnes 7/10

He linked-up with Chilwell in a decent manner and was a lively outlet for Brendan Rodgers’ side down the left. Barnes completed 3 dribbles and was a menace in and around the penalty box.

Jamie Vardy 7/10

Lacked the end product but full marks for commitment and desire, running his socks off till the final whistle.
