Bellerin And Tierney In Defence: Strongest Arsenal XI With All Players Fit

Arsenal made quite a few signings in the summer transfer window, and will hope to challenge for the top four this season.

The Gunners have an exciting attack, but their and defence is still patchy compared to Liverpool and Manchester City.  Arsenal manager Unai Emery has brought about a lot of change in the last year or so, and a team that promises exciting football.

Let’s take a look at the strongest Arsenal XI when all players are fit:

Goalkeeper

Bernd Leno will be Arsenal’s No. 1 in the 2019-20 season, with Emiliano Martínez being the backup goalkeeper for the Gunners.

Defence

Arsenal made a surprise signing in the summer when they brought in experienced centre-back David Luiz from Chelsea. He has replaced Laurent Koscielny in the Arsenal backline, and Sokratis looks like the preferred option alongside the Brazilian at the heart of the defence. Rob Holding, Calum Chambers, and Shkodran Mustafi are the other options.

At right-back, Héctor Bellerín will return to the side once he is fully fit, while Kieran Tierney could play at left-back once he finishes his rehabilitation and is back fit.

Midfield

Emery could play a midfield three or a midfield two with a No. 10 further forward. Mattéo Guendouzi will be the first-choice central midfielder for the Gunners, but we are unsure who will partner him in the long run.

Granit Xhaka is the captain of the side but has come under criticism for his bad decision making. But, Emery seems to trust Xhaka and he will most likely play alongside Guendouzi in midfield. Lucas Torreira can come in for his work rate.

Loan signing Dani Ceballos could play as a central midfielder or as an attacking midfielder, and can play both positions well. If Emery goes in for a No. 10, Mesut Ozil could possibly start as well, although the side would become defensively weaker.

Attack

The attacking trio for the Gunners is going to be Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and new signing Nicolas Pépé. Aubameyang or Lacazette could play on the left, with one of them playing as the striker, while Pepe will start on the right. Ozil is another option on the right in place of Pepe, or as an attacking midfielder for the Gunners.
