Liverpool want to sell young midfielder: Leeds & Brentford among potential destinations- Opinion

Liverpool’s 21-year-old midfielder Ovie Ejaria doesn’t have a future at Anfield as per reports and the Merseyside club want to sell the English midfielder and not loan him yet again.

Liverpool Echo have reported that Ejaria will be allowed to leave the club, but only on a permanent deal. The report further states that Liverpool will keep him rather than loan him out if they cannot get a permanent deal done.

Let’s take a look at 3 potential destinations for Ovie Ejaria:

Reading

Reading are frontrunners in the race to sign Ejaria, who spent the second half of last season on loan at the Championship club. In 16 games for Reading last season, he scored one goal and provided two assists in the Championship.

The club are reportedly still in the race to sign Ejaria and they expressed interest to bring him on loan recently. Reading recently brought in experienced midfielder Charlie Adam and would like to acquire one more central midfielder ahead of the new season.

Brentford

Brentford are another club who are keen on signing the young Liverpool midfielder and are interested in a £3.5 million deal to sign him. The Championship side have signed quite a few players ahead of the 2019-20 season, including two midfielders Mathias Jensen and Christian Nörgaard from Celta de Vigo and Fiorentina, respectively.

Ejaria is a good dribbler and passer of the ball from midfield and can be a good fit for Brentford in the Championship. Brentford’s new-look team could benefit from a young player like Ejaria.

Leeds United

Leeds United need to strengthen all over the pitch, including central midfield as they try to have another go at gaining promotion to the Premier League. Ejaria could be a very good signing for Leeds and is a Bielsa player with his work-rate and energy, as well as his very good technical skills. Capable of playing in central midfield or attacking midfield, Ejaria’s quality dribbling, as well as passing and composure on the ball, could make him a useful signing for the side.

Ejaria’s growth as a player would benefit a lot if he plays under a manager like Bielsa, while the style of football that Leeds play will also suit him.
