After the 6-0 thrashing they handed to Tranmere Rovers, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will continue their pre-season when they travel to Northern Commercial Stadium, to take on Gary Bower’s Bradford City side on Sunday.
The Reds have a few of their first team stars unavailable for this game. The likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Alisson Becker are all yet to return from international duty while Naby Keita and Xherdan Shaqiri are nursing injuries.
Klopp used two different sides for the two halves of the game against Tranmere earlier this week and could do something similar for this game as well.
Here is the predicted lineup he might field for the first half:
Defence
Simon Mignolet should keep his place under the bar while young Vitezslav Jaros will wait for his chance in the second half.
Joe Gomez was superb in that game and could be the senior defender once again in this tie. Ki-Jana Hoever, who was exceptional in the second half, could partner Gomez at the back in the first half.
Nathaniel Clyne scored Liverpool’s first goal in that game and deserves another chance at right-back.
Yasser Larouci was the biggest surprise for the Liverpool fans in the last game. Klopp should give him more minutes to assess his value to the senior side.
Midfield
Fabinho and Curtis Jones played well in tandem in the second half at Prenton Park. The duo should play together and could start this game from the first half.
Adam Lallana was impressive at times, but needs to do more to warrant a place in the first team in the upcoming campaign.
The English star should complete Liverpool’s midfield for this game.
Attack
Rhian Brewster picked up a brace against Tranmere, and could lead the attack for Liverpool once again this weekend.
Harry Wilson and Ryan Kent were explosive on the flanks for most of that game and Klopp might refrain from making any changes to the front line.
James Milner, Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain, Divock Origi, Joel Matip, Bobby Duncan and Ben Woodburn are players to watch out for in the second half.
