Opinion: Wolves and Bournemouth among 3 ideal destinations for Premier League ace

Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden recently revealed that he will be leaving the Magpies at the end of the season, having had discussions with the club on selling him.

Hayden said that the reason for him moving from Newcastle was to be closer to his family – his fiance and daughter, and that it’s all about getting the right deal for him and the club.

“It’s a fantastic club,” Hayden was quoted as saying by the Telegraph.

“You wouldn’t want to actively try to leave a club when you have 52,000 every home game. But, for me, I have a daughter and a fiancee, soon to be wife, who I have to put first.”

Hayden has had a great year for Newcastle, becoming the first-choice midfielder for Rafa Benitez, as his tough tackling and bursting runs through midfield resulted in the Newcastle manager choosing him in his midfield in the second half of the season.

The Telegraph report that Newcastle United will want in excess of £15 million for the player they signed for £2.6 million from Arsenal.

Let’s look at three clubs that he could join next season:

Bournemouth

Eddie Howe’s side have had another decent campaign in the Premier League, but they will want to push on and finish in the top 10 next year.

The Cherries have plenty of options in midfield with the likes of the experienced Andrew Surman, summer signing Jefferson Lerma, Dan Gosling, as well as the surprise star of the season David Brooks, who has impressed this year.

The long-term injury to Lewis Cook, who ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament, might mean that Howe adds a younger, dynamic tackling midfielder in Hayden, to his squad.

Wolves

The Wolves‘ midfield duo of Rúben Neves and João Moutinho have been the stars of the season, while the likes of Romain Saïss and Leander Dendoncker have been good backup options for manager Nuno Espírito Santo.

However, with Neves’ likely to attract a few clubs in the summer after a stellar campaign, and Dendoncker returning back to parent club Anderlecht, Wolves may need a few more options in midfield.

Hayden would offer something different and might be a good squad player for the team, while also bringing tenacity to the team.

West Bromwich Albion

West Brom finished 4th in the Championship, and will play Aston Villa in the play-off semi-finals, and are just a few matches away from a return to the Premier League.

If they do secure a return to the top flight, they will need a few players with Premier League experience in their team.

Hayden will offer that as well as a never-say-die attitude that is required in teams that are promoted to the top.

We could also see the deal go through if Newcastle United are keen on securing Salomón Rondón on a full-time deal as the on-loan Newcastle United striker had a great season for the Magpies, and a swap between the two clubs could make this deal happen.
