Top 3 performers from Arsenal in the 2018-19 Premier League season

Arsenal have had a mixed campaign under Unai Emery this season. The Gunners have missed out on the Premier League top-four, but will have the opportunity to qualify for the Champions League if they manage to beat Chelsea in the UEFA Europa League final.

However, with the Premier League done and dusted, here are three best performers for the North London giants this season.

Alexandre Lacazette

Alexandre Lacazette has been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise dire attack for Arsenal this season. The Frenchman has notched up 19 goals in all competitions while mustering 13 assists.

The Frenchman’s pace, agility, and lethal finishing have made Arsenal much more productive in the attacking department. But, it has been his combination play with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang that has impressed the onlookers this season, with the duo combining 50 goals between them in all competitions.

And going forward, Lacazette’s goalscoring abilities will be even more crucial as the Gunners look to refresh their creative unit this summer.

Aaron Ramsey

Aaron Ramsey was one of the few players, who managed to integrate himself into Emery’s tactical setup at the Emirates this season.

The Welshman impressed in his final season at the club. His ability to carry the ball into half-spaces coupled with his remarkable work-ethic was impressive, especially with the likes of Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan struggling with form and injuries.

Ramsey was involved in 14 goals in all competitions this season, but missed the final stage of the campaign due to injury.

The Welshman also received a farewell at Emirates in the draw with Brighton earlier this month, after it was revealed that he will not be able to feature for the Gunners due to a muscular injury.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been by far the best performer for Arsenal this season, thanks to his composure in front of goal.

Indeed, the Gabonese international is the club’s top scorer so far, plundering 31 goals in all competitions. His hat-trick against Valencia in the second leg earned Arsenal a place in the Europa League final. And he was also involved in the impressive win over Burnley at the weekend, scoring a brace.

If scoring goals week in week out wasn’t enough, the ex-Dortmund attacker has impressed with his versatility as he was often deployed in a wide attacking role by Emery this season.

Aubameyang finished the season with the same number of goals as Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, and shared the Golden Boot award.
