Tottenham Hotspur linked with a move for Serie A forward: Here’s what he’ll add

Tottenham Hotspur have enquired about unhappy AC Milan forward Patrick Cutrone, it has been reported.

Cutrone has a contract with Milan until 2023, but after an indifferent first half of the season, the club decided to sign Krzysztof Piatek in the January transfer window which has relegated Cutrone to the bench.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund have asked about the availability Cutrone.

Patrick Cutrone – Fact file

After breaking into the senior team from the Milan youth teams, Cutrone had a brilliant start with the Rossoneri as he managed 10 goals and four assists in his first full season with the club.

Despite being a teenager, Cutrone was always at the right place and at the right time, almost showing an understanding of the game that belied his age.

This season, however, things haven’t been the same as the 21-year old has mustered just three goals in 24 Serie A appearances.

The poor goal-return coupled with Piatek’s stunning form after signing in the January transfer window has meant Cutrone has managed only five substitute appearances in the last five games.

Since being promoted to the senior team, Cutrone has managed 27 goals in 79 Serie A appearances. That might not be the best of returns, but lest we forget, he’s still only 21.

What will Patrick Cutrone add to Tottenham?

Cutrone’s strengths are his finishing ability. A cross, a long pass or a through ball, whatever it is, the 21-year old tends to find the right position to apply the finishing touch.

In other words, he’s a modern-day poacher. Cutrone’s style was compared to Filippo Inzaghi early on in his career, but with time, he has shown that he has other abilities besides just tapping the ball in.

The Italian’s hold-up play is pretty impressive which allows can bring his teammates into play, and considering Spurs like to keep possession of the ball and have technically gifted players to do so, Cutrone would be a good fit.

The issue is Cutrone isn’t satisfied with a bit part role at Milan with Piatek being the preferred choice, so will he accept the same at Tottenham under the shadow of Harry Kane?
