Rashford and Martial Up Top: Predicted Manchester United Lineup vs Watford

Manchester United will return to Premier League action on Saturday against Watford in what will be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first full game in charge of the club as the permanent manager.

The Norwegian was handed a three-year contract after the side’s impressive performances as the interim manager, and will now hope to end the team’s two-game losing run in all competitions.

The Red Devils were beaten 2-0 by Arsenal in their last Premier League game, which was also the first time the club lost under Solskjaer in the league.

A home game against Watford won’t be easy as the Hornets managed to eke out a 2-1 win against Crystal Palace in the FA Cup just before the international break, and confidence will still be high despite the interruption.

A win for Manchester United will push them above Arsenal and level on points with Tottenham as the two north London sides don’t play until Monday and Sunday respectively.

Manchester United Team News

While Romelu Lukaku is a doubt for the game, Alexis Sanchez will definitely miss the clash against Watford.

Predicted Manchester United Lineup

Defence

Victor Lindelof and Chris Smalling are likely to start as the two centre-halves, with Luke Shaw and Ashley Young playing as the full-backs.

United have shipped four goals in the last two games, and the defeat against Wolves will perhaps rankle more than the one against Arsenal as it knocked them out of the FA Cup.

David De Gea should keep his place in goal, and will hope for a game where he doesn’t have to do much.

Midfield

Matic should keep his place in midfield after recovering from his injury, and might line up alongside Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera.

Herrera and Matic have played crucial roles in the midfield, and have given Pogba the licence to burst forward. The Frenchman’s form has taken a nose-dive in recent games, however, and the fans will hope the World Cup winner gets his mojo back pretty soon.

Attack

Jesse Lingard should be available as well, and might feature as the number 10. Romelu Lukaku is still a doubt for the clash, and in his absence, we might see Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford start up top.
