Benitez to make one change: Predicted 5-4-1 Newcastle United lineup vs West Ham

Newcastle United will look to keep the winning momentum going in the Premier League when they take on West Ham United on Saturday.

The Magpies have won back to back games in the league, and have picked up seven points from their last three games to climb up to 13th in the table.

West Ham too were on a three-game unbeaten run before their loss to Manchester City in the last league game.

Newcastle are five points behind their upcoming opponents and will hope to reduce the gap when the two sides square off at the London Stadium.

Newcastle United Team News

The Magpies don’t have any fresh injury concerns and we expect Rafa Benitez to make minimal changes considering the team is doing well.

Ciaran Clark and Rob Elliot are the only two players who are unavailable.

Predicted Newcastle United Lineup

Defence

The Magpies defence was under the cosh a few times in the game against Burnley as the Clarets used their infamous direct approach to pose problems.

Overall, the defensive trio of Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schar, and Florian Schar did quite well and should continue at the back against West Ham.

With Andy Carroll likely to feature, the defensive trio might face another battle of dealing with a lot of crosses and long balls.

Martin Dubravka made a good save in the first half against Burnley, and he should keep his place in the Newcastle United lineup.

Midfield

Sean Longstaff and Isaac Hayden have surprised quite a few fans and pundits alike with their consistent and tenacious displays at the middle of the park.

The duo were excellent again on Tuesday, and should keep their place in the Newcastle United lineup. Longstaff scored a good goal to double the team’s lead in the last game and will be high on confidence.

DeAndre Yedlin might return to the starting lineup after getting a breather against Burnley, while Matt Ritchie will feature as the left wing-back.

Attack

Miguel Almiron once again showed plenty of promise and linked up well with his teammates. His passing in the first half, in particular, was impressive, and he should start on the left. Ayoze Perez might keep his place on the right, while Salomon Rondon should lead the line.
