Predicted Leeds United Lineup vs Bristol City: Bamford to Lead the Line

After a commendable performance against West Brom, Leeds United will take on Bristol City in their next Championship game.

The 4-0 win against West Brom coupled with Sheffield United’s draw against Sheffield Wednesday ensured Leeds were back up to second in the table, and in the automatic promotion spots.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side started the game brilliantly and found themselves a goal up inside the opening minute as Pablo Hernandez struck from just outside the penalty area to ease the pressure off the hosts.

Bristol City haven’t been in the best of form as they’ve lost three out of their last four games in all competitions. Home comfort against Leeds might be vital though as the Whites have dropped points in each of their last two away games in the Championship.

Leeds United Team News

Izzy Brown and Jamie Shackleton appeared for the Leeds Under-23 side against Watford on Monday, and are in contention to travel with the team.

Shackleton did come off the bench against West Brom, but it’s unlikely he’ll start against Bristol City. Stuart Dallas’ return has been a big positive as the versatile winger was in good form before his injury.

His return has added more depth and quality to the squad ahead of the final run in the push for promotion. Jack Clarke has resumed training as well, but we don’t expect him to feature so soon.

Predicted Leeds United Lineup vs Bristol City

Defence

Bielsa isn’t someone who changes his lineup frequently, and considering the Whites were outstanding against West Brom, he has even more reason to not do so.

Pontus Jansson and Liam Cooper should line up at the back, and the duo should be supported by Luke Ayling and Ezgjan Alioski in the full-back areas.

Alioski added the cherry on top with a tap in late on after some good build-up play from Leeds.

Kiko Casilla had to make just one save in the first half against West Brom, and will hope for a  similarly quiet game against Bristol as well

Midfield

Kalvin Phillips should keep his place in front of the defence, while the duo of Mateusz Klich and Tyler Roberts will line up ahead.

The duo combined extremely well for the second goal against West Brom that’s saw Patrick Bamford apply the finishing touches.

Attack

Bamford is expected to lead the line again, while the duo of Pablo Hernandez and Jack Harrison might complete the attacking quartet.
