3 Premier League Clubs Who Should Move For Ligue 1 Star: Arsenal and Tottenham Feature

Premier League clubs have received a huge boost in the pursuit of Adrien Rabiot after Mirror reported that FC Barcelona have backed out of the race to sign the PSG midfielder.

Rabiot is set to leave the club at the end of the season after struggling under new coach Thomas Tuchel and in this article, we will talk about three Premier League who should definitely make a move for this talented midfielder in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Manchester City

The holding midfield role has been a bit of a problem for Manchester City, of late and the problem could get even bigger next season, with Fernandinho entering the final phase of his career.

There have already been many instances where manager Pep Guardiola has had to alter his formation in the absence of the Brazilian international. Therefore, the Catalan will welcome the arrival of someone like Rabiot, who is not only good at circulating possession but is also a strong tackler.

Rabiot has already shown incredible promise during his time at Paris and considering his vast experience in the French top flight as well as his style of play, he shouldn’t take long in integrating to Guardiola’s possession-based game at City.

Arsenal

Arsenal are believed to be one of the frontrunners in the pursuit of Rabiot and the deal could make a world of sense for the Gunners.

The north London giants are set to offload star player Mesut Ozil in the summer while Aaron Ramsey has already agreed a pre-contract agreement with Juventus, leaving them a bit shallow in the midfield department.

The addition of Rabiot, therefore, will undoubtedly revamp the Arsenal midfield but what makes him such an appealing target for the Gunners is his composure on the ball as well as his remarkable passing that tunes in well with Unai Emery’s tactical philosophy at the Emirates.

The Frenchman can be utilized in the double pivot alongside Lucas Torreira, where his technical quality will ease the build-up play while Torreira’s robust style of play will help them initiate turnovers, ultimately adding another dimension to the Arsenal midfield.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur are in desperate need for reinforcements in the midfield department this summer, considering their injury problems throughout the course of the campaign.

Holding midfielder Eric Dier has suffered from appendectomy as well as a thigh muscle strain, which has kept him out of action for the most part of the season while Victor Wanyama has also been out with injury frequently. As a result, coach Mauricio Pochettino has been forced to rely on the likes of Moussa Sissoko and Harry Winks in a season where they have progressed in Europe as well.

Rabiot, in that regard, could give Tottenham a much-needed boost as the Frenchman is not only capable of making key tackles but his efficient passing goes hand in hand with Pochettino’s efficient build-up and counter-attacking philosophy at Tottenham – making him the ideal fit for the Lilywhites.
