Barisic Returns: Predicted 4-3-3 Rangers Lineup vs Aberdeen

Rangers will host Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup quarter-final replay after being to a 1-1 draw at Pittodrie Stadium.

Steven Gerrard’s side have drawn their last two games in all competitions, and need to up their game against Aberdeen at Ibrox.

Rangers will know that the winner of the tie will get to face Celtic in the semi-final, and considering the Gers are only a few games away from potentially lifting the Cup, they should be prepared to give it their all.

The Gers were held in their last league game against Hibernian, and despite creating several clear-cut chances, the Light Blues failed to beat the 10-men and came away from Easter Road with just a point.

Gerrard will hope the team will be more clinical on Tuesday against Aberdeen, who managed a cleansheet against Celtic away from home on Saturday.

Rangers Team News

Gareth McAuley will still be unavailable for the clash against Aberdeen, but full-back Borna Barisic is back and make the playing XI.

Predicted Rangers Lineup

Defence

Andy Halliday struck the outside of the crossbar against Hibs, after featuring in a left-back role, but we expect Barisic to return and play as the left-back.

James Tavernier should keep his place on the right, while the duo of Connor Goldson and Joe Worrall might start at the heart of the defence once again.

Allan McGregor made some good saves against Hibs, and should line up in goal.

Midfield

Ryan Jack should feature as a defensive midfielder, and the duo of Scott Arfield and Glen Kamara will play slightly ahead of him.

Arfield had a few good chances to score against Hibs, and he’ll hope to be more composed in front of goal come Tuesday.

Attack

Ryan Kent and Daniel Candeias saw a lot of the ball against Hibs, especially the former, and the home fans will expect the two to trouble the Aberdeen full-backs again come Tuesday.

Up front, Alfredo Morelos should start, even though he is a booking away from missing the clash against Celtic in the Premiership. The Colombian has signed a new contract with the Gers and was named in the national team squad
