Lacazette With 6, Suarez Gets 4 | Arsenal Player Ratings vs Manchester City

Arsenal endured a disappointing defeat against reigning Premier League champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium earlier today.

A hat-trick from Sergio Aguero was good enough to sink the Gunners, who tried to claw their way back into the match via a first-half headed goal from Laurent Koscielny.

However, their effort proved to be futile in the face of a relentless attacking display by the Citizens.

This loss pushes the Gunners to the sixth place in the Premier League table. Here are the Arsenal player ratings against Manchester City.

Bernd Leno: 5

Tried his best to keep the Manchester City attackers at bay with a number of saves in both the halves. However, it wasn’t enough to stop Sergio Aguero from getting his second hat-trick of the season.

Stephan Lichtsteiner: 5.5

Looked out of sorts against both Sterling and Laporte while defending, and gave away acres of space to the attackers.

Laurent Koscielny: 6

Got the crucial equaliser for his side, but his meek defending let his side down.

Shkodran Mustafi: 5

Looked pretty ordinary throughout the match and picked up a knock towards the end of the game that forced him off the pitch.

Nacho Monreal: 6

Tried to get the ball up the pitch on occasions, but lacked the accuracy with his passing. Tracked Bernardo Silva quite a few times as well.

Alex Iwobi: 5

Was not able to start attacks from the midfield with his darting runs into the danger area. Gave away the ball in the opening minute and City subsequently scored.

Matteo Guendouzi: 6

Looked to keep the opposition attackers under check. Vied for the ball, but did not get much support from his teammates.

Lucas Torreira: 6

Made a few good interceptions to break down the opposition attacks before building. But the City press was too much to handle.

Sead Kolasinac: 5

Could not supply any telling passes into the danger area and was finally withdrawn.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang: 5.5

His first-half efforts were too comfortable for Ederson. Was not able to take a single shot on the goal in the second.

Alexandre Lacazette: 6

Glimpses of brilliance but not a memorable night for the Frenchman in terms of output.

Substitutes

Aaron Ramsey: 5

Came on as a substitute but could not make much difference.

Denis Suarez: 5

Made his debut, and kept the ball reasonably well.

Konstantinos Mavropanos: NA
