Martial and Smalling to Start: 4-3-3 Manchester United Predicted Lineup vs Liverpool

Manchester United will host Liverpool in a few hours time for arguably the most important fixture of the season in terms of the current scenario of the title race.

Liverpool need to win this game to go 3 points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table with the Sky Blues having a massive day of their own as they face Chelsea at Wembley in the Carabao Cup final.

Liverpool have historically struggled at Old Trafford and with the Red Devils on their way up ever since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s appointment, they will pose a stiff challenge for Klopp who is on his quest to bring the Premier League title to Anfield.

MANCHESTER UNITED TEAM NEWS

There are a number of niggles which could keep out certain players for this match including Antonio Valencia, Matteo Darmian and Marcos Rojo. But the big news is that both Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard have a chance to feature with the former looking the more likely to start the game.

PREDICTED MANCHESTER UNITED LINEUP VS LIVERPOOL (4-3-3)

DEFENCE

David de Gea will start in goal. The Spaniard might be in for a busy time if the front three of Firmino, Mane and Salah get in on the act, which to be fair, they have failed to do so against United till now.

Ashley Young and Luke Shaw look certain to start in the fullbacks spots. They will be dealing with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah respectively and have to bring their A-game to the fore.

Victor Lindelof looks certain to start with Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Eric Bailly facing a three-way fight to feature alongside him. We are going with Smalling considering his experience and the fact that he was preferred against Chelsea.

MIDFIELD

Nemanja Matic will sit in the deep midfield role where he will be assisted by Ander Herrera. The duo has to shoulder the responsibility of protecting the backline and keeping things going in midfield which will hand Paul Pogba the license to wreak havoc further forward.

The Frenchman has been in excellent form scoring 8 goals in his last 8 league games and will be United’s main weapon along with Marcus Rashford.

ATTACK

Anthony Martial might well start the fixture with Ole hinting at his participation. The winger has fond memories playing against Liverpool and would look to get on the scoresheet once again.

Juan Mata might be selected on the right flank in case Lingard fails to start while Marcus Rashford will be leading the line.
