Winks and Lloris Impress: Tottenham Hotspur Player Ratings vs Fulham

Tottenham Hotspur maintained their record of zero draws as they churned out a last-gasp win over Fulham earlier today.

The Lilywhites struggled to breach the rigid Fulham defence in the first half but bounced back in the second half to seal all three points.

Here are the Spurs player ratings vs Fulham.

Hugo Lloris (8/10): Made a couple of important saves, including the ones that denied both Ryan Babel and Andre Schurrle. The Frenchman also rushed out to Aleksandar Mitrovic’s feet in time to deny the Serbian. An excellent display from the Spurs captain.

Toby Alderweireld (7.5/10): He was rock solid at the back and also played a crucial role in the build-up, notably threading a perfect diagonal ball to Dele Alli.

Davinson Sanchez (7/10): Struggled to keep track of Babel in the first half and looked out of pace, at times. A much better performance in the second half as he provided defensive cover to prevent Fulham from finding the back of the net.

Jan Vertonghen (8/10): His goal-saving tackle on Babel was one of the highlights of the game while the Belgian also made a series of useful forays forward to support Danny Rose. Definitely the best defender for Spurs this evening.

Kieran Trippier (7/10): With Fulham sitting deep and employing a rigid defensive setup, it was always difficult for him to provide any sort of danger from wider the position. Defensively, he wasn’t as bad as he’s been in recent games, though.

Christian Eriksen (8/10): As usual, the Dane provided the creative flair, notably assisting Dele Alli for Tottenham’s equaliser in the second half. Also attempted a few shots on goal, one of which was crucially blocked.

Harry Winks (9/10): Made the attacking run and was at the right place and at the right time as he headed home to secure all three points for his side. Aside from that, the youngster recycled the ball very well and kept the midfield ticking with his passes.

Danny Rose (7.5/10): While Trippier struggled to make any inroads on the right-flank, Rose was a livelier figure on the opposite side of the pitch, making a series of darting runs to unsettle the opposition defence.

Erik Lamela (6.5/10): Failed to make any notable impact on the game as the Argentine often got isolated in the final third. His link-up play was sloppy while he also squandered a good opportunity in the first half.

Dele Alli (8/10): Provided a host of key passes in the final third but was unlucky as the Spurs attackers lacked the finishing touch. But he certainly didn’t as he made full use of Eriksen’s inviting ball to the back post to score the equalizer in the 51st minute.

Fernando Llorente (6/10): It is probably fair to say that Llorente is not good enough to replace the injured Harry Kane as the Spaniard looked sloppy in the link-up play while also making a host of bad touches.

Substitutes

Eric Dier (NA): Returned from a long injury layoff as he replaced Lamela in the 79th minute to provide more defensive cover.

Georges-Kevin Nkoudou (NA): He provided a brilliant cross in the end that was ultimately nodded home by Winks for Tottenham’s winner.
