Sanchez To Return: Predicted 4-3-3 Manchester United Lineup vs Arsenal

Manchester United will look to maintain their 100% winning record under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer when they face Arsenal in the 4th Round of the FA Cup this evening.

The Red Devils picked up a 2-1 win against Brighton and Hove Albion in their last outing, and will be full of confidence going into this fixture.

Manchester United team news

Solskjaer will be without the services of defender Marcos Rojo and midfielder Marouane Fellaini, while Chris Smalling is unlikely to feature after sustaining a foot injury during the win over Fulham. However, the English international is back in full training.

Predicted Manchester United lineup vs Arsenal

Defence

Solskjaer might make two or three changes in defence, with the Norwegian having one eye on the important league fixture against Burnley.

Luke Shaw could return to the starting lineup, having overcome the illness that kept him out of action last weekend. He will replace Diego Dalot in the left-back slot. Ashley Young will retain his place in the right back position ahead of Antonio Valencia.

Eric Bailly will deputise for Chris Smalling at the heart of the United backline. The Ivorian international is back in contention after serving a three-game suspension and will be partnered by Victor Lindelof, who has emerged as a reliable defensive option for the Red Devils this season.

In goal, David de Gea will make way for Sergio Romero, and the Argentine will look be keen to secure a cleansheet against the Gunners this evening.

Midfield

Minimal changes are expected in midfield, meaning Solskjaer is likely to deploy Nemanja Matic at the base of United’s 4-3-3. The Serbian, however, will face a stern test against Arsenal’s midfield trifecta of Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi.

Fortunately for Matic, though, he will be supported by Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera in a slightly advanced position, where they will look to ease United’s transition game as well providing additional support in the final third.

Attack

Marcus Rashford might be given a breather this evening, thus paving the way for Romelu Lukaku to lead the United attack. The Belgian has fallen out of favour this season, but will be presented with an excellent opportunity to revive his form against the Gunners.

Lukaku will be supported by the wide duo of Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez, who will be keen to impress against his former club. Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard will provide Solskjaer will additional options in the final third.
