After another loss against Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final, it seems Maurizio Sarri has finally had enough of his below-par attack. The false-9 experiment with Eden Hazard is not working. Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata do not look like Chelsea strikers and Willian is on his worst run of form.
With the problems mounting and the season entering its business period and with the transfer window open, it is now or never for Sarri. According to a report on football.london, Chelsea are favourites to sign on-loan AC Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain. The Argentine is on loan from Juventus and is seemingly ready to work under Sarri once again.
A move to the Premier League has been in the works for a long time now and with his experience and winning mentality, he can be just the addition Chelsea need.
On a more personal note for the incoming striker, he hasn’t been at his best recently but the Italian manager had managed to get the best out of him during their time together at Stadio San Paolo and the Blues will hope there is a repeat of the same in the coming months.
