Skipp and Moura Start: Predicted Tottenham Hotspur Lineup vs Bournemouth

Tottenham Hotspur will hope to continue their excellent run of form when they host Bournemouth at Wembley on Boxing Day.

The Lilywhites have won their last three matches in all competitions and have scored nine goals in the process, so confidence is high in the Spurs squad.

Tottenham Hotspur team news

Mauricio Pochettino will have to deal with a lot of absentees going into this clash with Mousa Dembele, Eric Dier, Jan Vertonghen and Victory Wanyama all sidelined with injury while Serge Aurier, Dele Alli and Moussa Sissoko are all doubtful.

Predicted Tottenham Hotspur lineup vs Bournemouth

Defence

A long injury list will restrict Pochettino from rotating his squad in the Boxing Day fixture against Bournemouth, meaning Kieran Trippier and Toby Alderweireld will retain their place in the starting eleven.

Trippier will be deployed in the right-back position while Danny Rose will replace Ben Davies on the opposite flank.

In central defence, Juan Foyth could come into the side, replacing Davinson Sanchez, who will be given a breather ahead of the crucial weekend fixture against Wolves. The Argentine centre-back will start alongside the highly experienced Alderweireld, who has more clearances than any other Spurs player this season.

Hugo Lloris will be the man between the sticks for the Lilywhites this week. The Frenchman will be looking for his seventh clean sheet of the campaign.

Midfield

With so many players out injured, Pochettino could once again vouch for the young Oliver Skipp, who could start at the base of Tottenham’s 4-3-1-2. The 18-year-old will be deployed alongside Harry Winks and the more experienced Christian Eriksen.

The Danish international will be tasked the responsibility of providing the creative essence, especially in the likely absence of Dele Alli. The Dane has already delivered more key passes than any other player in the squad this season.

While Eriksen will be deployed in central midfield, the onus will be on Erik Lamela to deputise for the injured Alli. The Argentine international has done well this season but it will be a challenge to breach the well organised Bournemouth defence.

Attack

Tottenham have been in an excellent scoring run, having found the back of the net eight times in the last couple of matches. Therefore, Pochettino is unlikely to meddle with his attacking set-up, deploying Harry Kane and Lucas Moura upfront.

Moura will replace Heung Min-Son, who will be rested with the coach having one eye on the clash against Wolves this weekend.
