Leicester City have been one of the most inconsistent teams in the league, and their recent run of results perhaps proves it.
After beating Chelsea and Manchester City, the Foxes suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Cardiff City last weekend and will be eyeing to get back the winning momentum when they face Everton on Tuesday.
Defenders Jonny Evans and Wes Morgan will both be assessed ahead of Leicester’s clash against Everton. However, Claude Puel is unsure as to whether or not they will be match fit. Daniel Amartey and Matty James are the other absentees for the Foxes going into this fixture.
Defence
Ricardo Pereira will once again deputise for the injured Amartey in the right-back position. The Portuguese has averaged over four tackles per game this season and his work ethic will be important this week. Ben Chilwell, on the other hand, will continue to serve as left-back for Leicester City.
With Morgan and Evans both unlikely to feature this week, Puel will be forced to retain Caglar Soyuncu in the starting lineup.
The former Freiburg defender has struggled to settle into the Premier League this season, but some good support from star defender Harry Maguire might help him in the Leicester backline.
Kasper Schmeichel will retain his place in between the sticks as he searches for his seventh clean sheet of the season.
Midfield
We expect Hamza Choudhury to start in midfield. The 21-year old has been impressive in recent matches and his work-rate could be crucial against the technically astute Everton midfield.
Speaking of work-rate, Wilfred Ndidi has averaged over 3 tackles and 2 interceptions this season and will be tasked with the responsibility of neutralizing Everton’s threat in the middle third of the pitch. He will be partnered by Choudhary and Nampalys Mendy in the midfield.
Attack
Jamie Vardy will lead the Leicester City attack this week. His pace and aggression would be useful against the Everton backline.
The English international will be supported by the wide duo of Marc Albrighton and the highly talented James Maddison, who has averaged 2.4 key passes this season – more than any other player in the team. But, it will be a challenge for him to get past a well-drilled Everton backline this week.
