Manchester United vs Bournemouth: A case for Callum and other big talking points

After a nervy win over Everton last weekend, Manchester United came up with yet another last-gasp victory over Bournemouth this afternoon. The Red Devils conceded an early goal and were dominated throughout the first-hour even though Anthony Martial did manage to restore parity in the 35th minute.

And just when the game seemed to be heading to a stalemate, Marcus Rashford scored the winner from close range in the injury time to seal all three points for the Red Devils. And here are three talking points from their narrow win over the Cherries.

Anthony Martial leads the way once again!

Anthony Martial was United’s brightest spark in attack despite this being one of his weaker displays. Following a terrible half-hour, the Frenchman grew into the game, linking up with Luke Shaw on the flank.

In an attempt to create chances for his team, Martial made a number of runs at the Bournemouth defence and also tried to pick out his teammates but was often denied by some tight defending from the Cherries. In addition, Martial’s interplay with Shaw was impressive, at times, especially in the final phase of the game as United pinned down Bournemouth in their own half.

But his 35th-minute equalizer will definitely remain as the highlight of his performance against Eddie Howe’s men as he once again found a way to get on the scoresheet. Indeed, the former AS Monaco prodigy has now scored five goals in his last four Premier League matches and finally seems to have gained the trust of coach Jose Mourinho.

Therefore, Martial’s performances could certainly shape United’s fate next week, with the Red Devils due to play Juventus on Wednesday, which will be followed by the Manchester derby on Sunday.

The case of Callum Wilson

It’s safe to say that Callum Wilson has been one of the best performing English strikers in the Premier League this season. In just 11 games so far, the 26-year-old has already plundered six goals as well as produced five assists, making him one of the most productive attackers in the league this term.

His performance against Manchester United, in particular, caught attention as he was a complete livewire throughout the course of the game. Wilson caused a myriad of trouble for United’s centre-half pairing of Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof and clearly deserved scoring the opener in the eleventh minute.

As a result, England coach Gareth Southgate may be obliged to consider handing Wilson his first cap for the Three Lions.

Manchester United: The ultimate “comeback kings”

After yet another frustrating start to the game, Manchester United once again crawled their way back, sealing all three points in the dying embers of the game. Indeed, the Red Devils showed excellent character following a brisk start from Bournemouth in the first half, which took them by surprise.

This has been prevalent in the past few weeks with United scoring an equaliser in three of their last five in all competitions, often producing an inspiring second-half display. And this rejuvenated spirit could certainly aid them in the upcoming matches as they look to get a move on this season.

This includes nitroglycerin, isosorbide dinitrate, best place, as the magazine put it, given that Pfizer scientists discovered the drug.
