As per one of the latest reports by Mail Online, Turkish giants Fenerbahce are keen to prise away Mesut Ozil from the ranks of Arsenal in the January transfer window. There is apparently huge uncertainty revolving around the future of Ozil at the Emirates Stadium and Fenerbahce are keen to use this as an opportunity to sign him.
The former German international, who quit his national duty following the World Cup earlier this year, has failed to demonstrate the required work-ethic under the tutelage of the club’s new manager Unai Emery. His form so far this season has been a subject of criticism.
His substandard performances have certainly been evident. It would be interesting to see whether or not the 29-year-old considers an exit in January. Despite signing a new contract worth £350,000-a-week at the end of last season, Ozil hasn’t really lived up to the expectations of the fans and Emery.
He is also believed to be unhappy over Emery’s persistence of using him on the right-hand side instead of his preferred no.10 role. Apart from Fenerbahce, Manchester United are also understood to be monitoring his situation in the ranks of the north London based outfit.
