Latest: Sarri Planning To Bring Chelsea Legend Back To The Stamford Bridge

Former Chelsea skipper John Terry left Aston Villa at the end of the previous campaign and is currently a free agent. Reportedly, Terry turned down the option to join the ranks of Russian side Spartak Moscow earlier this week and there is uncertainty about his future.

The 37-year-old won five Premier League titles, five FA Cups, one Champions League and one Europa League title, amongst other top honours, during his long and illustrious spell at the Stamford Bridge. Intriguingly, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is looking forward to Terry’s return to the London based club.

Under the tutelage of Sarri, Chelsea have had an excellent start to their new season as they have won all of their first four league outings.

Sarri has revealed that he has had talks with Terry over the centre-back’s comeback to Chelsea as a coach and this should delight the fans.

On being asked the manner of Terry’s return, Sarri said: “In the coaching staff I think. As I said before I want to give space to the younger players. Fortunately we have very strong young players. Terry would be a point of reference for me, for everybody here I think. Here is his home. So he will be very important for everyone here.”
