2 Changes Expected: 4-4-1-1 Predicted Aston Villa Lineup Vs Rotherham

Aston Villa have made a disappointing start to their season in the Championship, with their latest outing ending in a 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers. The Villans have collected merely 10 points from their first 7 league games so far and are placed at the 12th spot in the standings at the moment.

On Tuesday, Steve Bruce’s men are due to host Rotherham United at the Villa Park. Although Aston Villa are set to enter into the fixture as firm favourites, the Millers are expected to give them tough competition after they defeated Derby County at the New York Stadium on Saturday.

Aston Villa Team News

Scott Hogan is still recuperating from a long-term groin injury. Harry McKirdy is a few weeks away from making a comeback after his shoulder surgery. Meanwhile, Birkir Bjarnason might feature this time around whereas Kienan Davis is still struggling with a groin injury.

PREDICTED ASTON VILLA LINE-UP TO FACE ROTHERHAM UNITED (4-4-1-1)

Defence

Orjan Nyland hasn’t had the best of starts to his life at Aston Villa but he impressed during the clash against Blackburn Rovers. However, a lot more confidence is required from him and it would be intriguing to see how he fares in the upcoming games for Bruce’s side.

Mile Jedinak is expected to be shifted to the heart of Aston Villa’s backline after he struggled in midfield in the last game. Alongside him, James Chester should start in central defence and the club would be hoping for the continuance of his fine form at the back.

Axel Tuanzebe is likely to start in place of Alan Hutton in the right-back slot. The 20-year-old has mustered 1 tackle and 4.3 clearances per game on an average from his 6 starts so far. Neil Taylor should keep his place at the left-back position.

Midfield

While John McGinn and Conor Hourihane are likely to get the green light from Bruce to start from the central midfield, Ahmed Elmohamady and Yannick Bolasie are expected to start from the right and left side of the midfield, respectively, against Paul Warne’s entourage.

Attack

Tammy Abraham is set to lead the line once again after his dazzling display against Blackburn Rovers. Jack Grealish should get the nod to start as the central attacking midfielder despite his early season woes. Grealish has bagged just 1 assist in 7 games and he certainly has to start delivering now.
