As per one of the latest reports by Calciomercato, Chelsea are keeping close tabs on Ajax forward David Neres. West London Sport has also reported that Neres, who has also been previously linked with Borussia Dortmund, is a transfer target of the Blues for the January transfer window.
Neres emerged through the youth ranks of Sao Paulo and for a short span of time, he plied his trade for their senior side before being prised away by Ajax in January 2017. Besides, he has also represented Brazil’s Under-20 side and is one of the hottest properties in the game at the moment.
The 21-year-old is unarguably a versatile player as he is capable enough of plying his trade as a central midfielder as well as a winger. He has raw pace in his legs, is good at taking decisions and despite being a young gun, he has shown immense maturity, effectiveness and creativity on the pitch.
In 32 Eredivisie appearances last term, Neres plundered 14 goals and also registered 11 assists. Although Chelsea have carved a brilliant start to their new season, Maurizio Sarri might look to bolster his arsenal midway into the season and Neres will be an exciting option.
