Huge: Chelsea Planning To Change Their Crest

As per one of the latest reports by Express, Chelsea are all set to change their crest after the club’s chiefs were given the green lights to do the same. The report further states that the plans are already underway to make some adjustments to the current design.

The current crest of the club was approved by Roman Abramovich back in 2005 following his purchase of the club, which went down very well with the Chelsea fans. It features a lion holding a staff, which is the Earl of Cadogan’s coat of arms.

There is no denying that Abramovich has transformed Chelsea into a mega club after taking over. There are rumours that the Russian could sell the club which he bought in a deal worth £140m in 2013, but anything concrete is yet to surface.

As far as the new crest is concerned, it is understood that the Lion would stay in the crest and alterations are expected to be made to the font to freshen it up. A source of Express Sport has said: “The crest is being redesigned. There won’t be massive changes but it’s being given a freshen up.”
