Under the tutelage of their new manager Maurizio Sarri, Chelsea have managed a splendid start to their new season in the Premier League. The Blues have won all of their five league games so far and are currently placed at the top of the league standings.
However, Gary Cahill has been someone who hasn’t seen any action under Sarri. Cahill is yet to feature for Chelsea this season and his current deal with the London based outfit is due to expire at the end of the season.
Reports suggest he is set to ask for an exit if he remains out of his manager’s plans.
The 33-year-old, after his move to the Stamford Bridge from Bolton Wanderers back in the January transfer window of 2012, has won every major club honour with Chelsea. Quite justifiably, lack of game time might force him to make a move in January.
He said: “I have to take charge of my own future. For me to do this all season is going to be very difficult. Obviously the most important thing is the club, but I have to look at my situation. And if I’m sat doing what I’m doing at this moment in time, I just hope that the club will respect that when it comes to the time.”
