Arsene Wenger’s reign at Arsenal concluded after a lengthy spell of 22 years at the end of the previous campaign. Eventually, the north London based outfit lured Unai Emery to the Emirates Stadium to take the club in the right direction.
Under the tutelage of Emery, Arsenal struggled and lost both of their first two games in the Premier League, which were against Manchester City and Chelsea. However, they have come back strongly, beating West Ham United and Cardiff City.
Intriguingly, Arsenal’s right-back Hector Bellerin has taken a dig at his former boss. He has stated that Wenger would send out his team bereft of ideas as to how to outclass the opposition.
The fullback has also claimed that Arsenal are going to perform well under Emery’s guardianship.
Speaking to The Times, Bellerin said: “With Arsene, he wanted us to play in the same way regardless of the opponents. The idea was that we could play in our way and beat anyone. But Emery is very focused on preparing a plan for our next opponents, whoever they may be.”
