As per one of the latest reports by Hull Live, Leeds United have placed Liverpool’s young gun Marko Grujic on their radar. The 22-year-old is deemed to be the back-up option for the Whites if they fail to lure Everton’s midfielder Muhamed Besic to the Elland Road this summer.
Grujic spent the second-half of the previous campaign with Cardiff City on loan and he played a key role in their promotion to the Premier League. He mustered 13 appearances in the Championship and made 1.8 tackles, 1.8 interceptions, 2.8 clearances and 0.3 block per game on an average.
Under the tutelage of new manager Marcelo Bielsa, the Yorkshire based outfit have carved an excellent start to the season. They have clinched two wins in as many league games and also secured a 2-1 win over Bolton Wanderers in the first round of the League Cup earlier this week.
Grujic is a central defensive midfielder by trade and his entry into Bielsa’s ranks would certainly introduce more competition for a place in the starting line-up. Besides, the Serbian international has the experience of English second tier under his belt and would be an exciting player to watch this season if his move materializes.
