West Ham United brought as many as nine new players to the London Stadium under the stewardship of new manager Manuel Pellegrini. Jack Wilshere was the first signing by the Chilean after Arsenal decided not to extend the contract of the midfielder owing to his recurring injury problems.
Wilshere has been really unlucky to have his career plagued by injuries and owing to the same, he hasn’t been able to make the most of his calibre. However, Pellegrini is apparently very optimistic about the English international and sees him as an instrumental figure for his West Ham United revolution.
Speaking to the media about Wilshere prior to his side’s clash against Liverpool, the 64-year-old said: “First of all he is only 26 and been unlucky with injuries. In the eight, nine years he played for Arsenal he showed he’s a different player. So if the injuries respect him, alone he will make the difference to us.”
Last season in the Premier League, Wilshere garnered 20 appearances under his belt for the Gunners, scoring 1 goal and garnering 3 assists. His move to the arsenal of the Irons should help him in resurrecting his career. The 26-year-old is unarguably a technical player and if he manages to maintain his fitness, he can eventually turn out to be a vital player for the Hammers this season.
