Manchester City News: Pep Heaps Praise On Unlikely Star

Manchester City have started their Premier League season in an appealing manner as they have bagged all six points from their two league fixtures so far. After a commendable 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in their opening game, they bulldozed past Huddersfield Town yesterday to secure a 6-1 win at the Etihad Stadium.

After his side’s win over the Terriers, Pep Guardiola was thoroughly happy with the performance of his troops. Intriguingly, one player he is heaped praise on was left wing-back Benjamin Mendy. The manager believes that Manchester City would be able to attack differently with a fit Mendy.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Guardiola said: “Last season Huddersfield played five at the back. We decided today, we would play with two strikers. All the players made a good performance. We could not attack in this way last year because we did not have Benjamin Mendy, he is so clever to go up and down. When we have we are able to attack in that way.”

Mendy was heavily involved in three goals and his attacking endeavours down the left flank were appealing to watch. The former Monaco man had missed a major chunk of the previous campaign after he ruptured his ACL early into the season but if he manages to stay fit, he can turn out to be a handy asset for Guardiola this time around.

I have been surfing online more than 4 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like read. Its pretty worth enough for me.
