Liverpool have completed the signing of Dutch sensation Ki-Jana Hoever. Premier League heavyweights such as Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United were also interested to make Hoever sign on the dotted line, but Jurgen Klopp’s camp had the last laugh.
Apparently, the opportunity of growth and developments which Klopp has been offering to the starlets in his arsenal was the prime reason for Hoever to switch to Anfield from Ajax. Liverpool only have to pay a nominal compensation fee to Ajax as the 16-year-old didn’t sign a professional contract with the Eredivisie giants.
Paper works relating to his move are expected to get completed by the end of the month but he wouldn’t be allowed to feature in a competitive game until he is granted international clearance. It is believed that Ajax are terribly disappointed to lose him as he was one of the best in their academy.
Hoever started his youth career with AZ Alkmaar before moving to Ajax in 2014. Predominantly a right-back, the young gun is also capable of operating from the central defence. He made 13 appearances in Eredivisie Under-17 last term and managed to find the back of the net on 2 occasions.
