Leicester City were beaten 2-1 by Manchester United at the Old Trafford in their opening League fixture of the Premier League on Friday. Paul Pogba found the back of the net from the penalty spot in the early minutes of the game before Luke Shaw doubled the lead of the home side on the 83rd minute.
The fixture was an exciting one and despite the fact that the Foxes tried to stage a comeback, Jamie Vardy’ strike during the injury time was too little too late for them. However, Leicester City’s midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is confident of his side’s upcoming endeavours.
“We will bounce back”, Ndidi tweeted. The Nigerian international played the entire game and apart from being industrious, he made some tough tackles and read the game brilliantly. His passes were of top quality more often than not and he left no stone unturned to cushion the back line of his side.
Ndidi’s form and the apparent optimism for the fixtures ahead is a good sign for Leicester City. He is upbeat of a chance in the fortunes of his side. Puel’s side are due to take on newly promoted side Wolverhampton Wanderers in their next league game on 18th August.
