As per one of the latest reports by the Mirror, Liverpool are keeping close tabs on VfB Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is believed to have become a big fan of Pavard after his endeavours for the French national side in the 2018 World Cup triumph.
Pavard emerged through the youth ranks of Lille and after impressing for their senior side, he was lured to the ranks of Stuttgart in the summer of 2016. He has established himself as one of the instrumental players for the German Bundesliga outfit and there is no denying that.
Capable of plying his trade as a right-back and centre-back, the 22-year-old’s versatility and calibre should be a welcome addition to the ranks of the Reds. He mustered 34 appearances in German top-flight last term, during which he made 1.6 tackles, 2.1 interceptions, 5.4 clearances and 1 block per game on an average.
Klopp feels that the defender is capable of performing in big stages and therefore, he has placed him on his radar. The report further states that Pavard could be lured to the Anfield for €35m if his current employers fail to qualify for the Champions League.
