As per one of the latest reports by Mail Online, Liverpool are set to ship out their goalkeeper Loris Karius to Besiktas on a two-year loan deal, with an option to make the move permanent in 2020. Talks between the two sides are believed to be in the advanced stages.
Goal has reported that Jurgen Klopp’s side will recoup £2.25m over the period of the initial deal, with the likelihood of a further £7.25m being raised if he hits a certain performance criteria. It is understood that a major portion of the aforesaid fees relies on the Turkish side reaching European football and his appearances.
The 25-year-old had tumultuous two years at the Anfield and he certainly needs to move on. Earlier this summer, Liverpool signed Alisson Becker for £67m and Karius is unlikely to get game time under his belt. Besides, Klopp also has Simon Mignolet and Kamil Grabara in his ranks as backup goalkeepers.
Karius made two glaring mistakes in the Champions League final against Real Madrid in May which enabled the Spanish giants to lift the glorious silverware. The German shot-stopper’s stocks have fallen beyond imagination and he needs to rebuild himself from the scratch. Therefore, a move to Besiktas would make a lot of sense.
