Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is desperately trying to make a switch to the ranks of Real Madrid. He has currently gone AWOL and is refusing to report back to the Stamford Bridge after his summer break. The Belgium international is set to be fined £200,000 by the Blues for the lack of professionalism shown by him.
Courtois was spotted in Beverly Hills by Real Madrid fans and they went on to chant “Courtois! Hala Madrid! Hala Madrid.”
As per one of the latest reports by The Telegraph, the London based outfit have given their consent to roll out a world record £71.6 million in order to sign Athletic Bilbao’s shot-stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga.
The report claims that the 23-year-old is set to fly to England today, having travelled to Madrid on Tuesday in pursuit of finalising his move to Chelsea. Real Madrid have been chasing Courtois for months and Arrizabalaga’s arrival will facilitate Courtois’ move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
In the post-match interview following his side’s final friendly of pre-season on penalties against Lyon, Sarri expressed his liking for Arrizabalaga and was quoted to have said, “I saw him one year ago [when I was at] Naples and my first impression was he was a very good goalkeeper. Very young, but very, very good.”
